Dog Training Programs – New England Canine Middleton, MA

New England Canine is owned and operated by the owners of New England Dobermans. For dog training, daycare or boarding Information call 781.219.7471.

With our timing and consistent dog training methods, rewards are given when the dog performs adequately and taken away for unwanted behaviors.  Our trainers are working with the dog instead of simply commanding the dog.  Animals are taught the desired behaviors first using rewards, but also taught that the unwanted behaviors don’t work.

With our positive reinforcement training, the dogs are rewarded for their actions.  Unwanted behaviors are simply ignored.  Trainers only use positive reinforcement without applying any negative reinforcement.

Basic obedience training will open up a line of communication between canine and human, thus helping you build a deeper relationship between you and your four-legged friend.

Puppy Training Program

Dogs are most formative in the early months of their lives. This time is crucial and is the best opportunity to establish good behaviors and for the owner to assert him/herself as the Alpha. This program offers crate training, potty training, socialization with other dogs/people, and the basics of obedience.

Obedience Training Program

Your dog will learn basic commands such as heel, sit, down, stay, come, leave it, etc. Your dog will also undergo E-Collar Training (varies depending on dog and client). E-Collar Training acts as a substitute for a leash, allowing you to participate in off-leash events with the knowledge that your dog will obey commands, remain at your side and under your control.

Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced Obedience Program

In addition to learning the basics (i.e. sit, stay, come), this program allows you to build on a foundation that has already been in place. We use a no-nonsense approach to training your dog with and without the use of treats. We are a firm believer in praise and motivation as a reward for good behavior. Dogs must be able to be satisfied with a “good boy/girl”. This program will improve your dog’s response to commands, allowing him or her to reach the next level of skill and understanding.

Our off-leash training method exposes your dog to situations where it is necessary for your to have complete control. Maximum distractions and real-life situations will be presented to your dog so we may teach him/her how to or not to respond. This is the highest level of obedience a dog can achieve.

Behavioral Modification Program

This program can be in additional to basic obedience training, or it can stand alone and be available to dogs with the highest level of aggression, anxiety or fear. Although dogs in this program are in training, they will also be socialized with the outside world and exposed to other dogs, people, traffic, etc. These interactions are monitored by canine professionals to ensure the environment remains safe for the public, other dogs, the student, and the trainer. By incorporating real world training in multiple situations, the trainer will be able to find triggers while simultaneously correcting them. This allows us to see and maintain the most reliable results. This program has a very high success rate and is beneficial to both owner and canine.

Protection Program

Personal Protection is offered to those who want to have a protection dog and for those training for various competitions. If you are interested in having your dog trained as a protection dog, your first step would be to make an appointment for an evaluation where decoys will work with your dog to assess his or her capabilities
